11 Apr Your Dream Home for the Day
I have worked in weddings for the past 9 years and have gained extensive experience from working alongside some of the top names in the industry. I founded Charlotte Elise Weddings and Events three years ago and it has gone from strength to strength. Our team is growing each year and we are really excited to use our collective experience to manage all weddings and events at Tilstone House.
As clichéd as it may sound, ‘Father of the Bride’ was one of my favourite films growing up and I just loved the idea of being a wedding and events planner. Although it’s definitely not as glamorous as people may think (lots of long days!) I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.
Tilstone House is a very flexible venue and we do everything we can to make our clients’ wedding dreams a reality. No areas are off limits at Tilstone House – you really do get exclusive use of the whole building and have a lot of freedom to utilise the space however you like.
We’re not a hotel where you are limited to certain packages or catering options; we work with award-winning caterers, who will create bespoke menus for your wedding or event. Working alongside myself and my team is also a unique feature. We’re on hand throughout the entirety of the planning process, right through to the wedding day, which differs from other wedding coordinators who are often not present on the big day itself.
The grandeur and beauty of the building and grounds. Although recently refurbished to the highest quality, the history, character and original features have remained integral to Tilstone House’s charm.
The bride and groom are treated like lord and lady of the house for their wedding. They will have even a personal butler to carry out any request – nothing is too much trouble!
Nothing is outrageous anymore! Every wedding I plan is unique and every couple want to bring their own personal touches and ideas to a wedding. We have worked with everything from fire dancers and circus acts to animals and helicopters!
I attended a party with The Avengers cast in London a couple of years ago. I won’t go into too much detail, but we were partying into the early hours with Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr. and co. It was definitely an experience to remember!
Using a wedding planner is a top tip – we have spoken to so many couples over the years who have said ‘if we could do it all again, we would hire a wedding planner’. We have built up key relationships over the years and will recommend suppliers to couples based on their wedding and the style, theme and budget they have.
I think we’ll see a lot of acrylic items incorporated into the wedding décor, such as invitations, place names and menus. In terms of florals, I think bold colours will start to make their way into bouquets and centerpieces. Circular wedding arches and hoops are something that I think we’ll see at a lot of at weddings this year and the rose gold/copper and marble combination will carry on well into 2019.
