Why Spring Weddings Are The Best

Why Spring Weddings Are The Best

The season renowned for fresh starts, the word fresh being what we’re focusing on for a spring wedding! Just as new life begins in spring with lambs and budding flowers, your new life will begin too. With a mix of stunning cherry-blossom filled backdrops and pastel dresses, you can’t go wrong. Sorry, Miranda Priestly, but florals in spring are, in fact, groundbreaking.

Florals = groundbreaking

If you’re having a vintage themed wedding – spring is the perfect time for you. A mixture of yellow daffodils, purple tulips mixed in with a foliage of vibrant greens make for a very classic looking bouquet. You could also use real flower petals as confetti, not only will it look and smell beautiful but it’s far better for the environment than using regular confetti.

Down with tradition

What better time to break the all-white tradition than with a floral wedding gown? Lace sleeves with delicate flowers sewn in, how delightful does that sound? But, if traditional is still something you’re leaning toward, you could always incorporate flowers into your hair instead for a little extra something. From bits of baby’s-breath woven into a braid to a statement flower crown – you’ll look and smell amazing.

Swoon-worthy decorations

Spring themed decorations are endless: painted duck eggs in a tiny nest as place settings for guests, floral wedding invites with pressed flowers, a floral archway, greenery garlands surrounding the seating or a hanging flower garland above the guests tables giving an enchanted secret garden vibe. Made from white peonies, lavender, white roses, ranunculus and pale pink and white sweetheart roses… the possibilities are endless!

Seasonal snacks

In spring you’ll notice some fruit and vegetables will become more readily available and look bigger and more fresh. Take advantage of that with your wedding meals. Asparagus goes with steak or even as a stand-alone side option. Raddish, albeit an acquired taste, looks good as a garnish on other dishes. Rhubarb is an instant classic for dessert that will leave your guests wanting to go back for seconds. And it’s finally strawberry season! Talk to your baker to see how you can get the very best out of the juicy fruit!

A wedding al fresco

The cold from winter hasn’t yet arrived and the warmth from summer hasn’t entirely gone away. Outdoor weddings are a must for a spring wedding. And for your getaway car: a convertible. No worry of getting your hair or dress wet from the rain.

Happy guests

After a dreary winter, feeling the sunlight on your face is the best remedy. The days get longer meaning more sunshine too! Scientists have proven that getting more vitamin D from the sun makes you happier – all the more reason for a spring wedding.
